Testimonial: Hi future Scopers! I am so excited for you to begin your journey with one of the best summer jobs in Ocean City, MD! I wish I could go back and be in your shoes. You have a lot to look forward to. Enjoy the ride!
Years with telescope pictures: 3 years – 2009, 2010, and 2012
-
The friends you make while working for Telescope Pictures are the best. Not many people can understand and relate to the hard work you put in during your summer as a scoper. Only your co-workers can relate.
-
I am pretty sure that it never rained once during my first year as a rookie scoper. All I ever wanted was one rain day. There is something about the weather in OCMD, it never rains between 8-5!
Summers completed at Telescope Pictures: 3
Advice to a future recruit: My advice to all future scopers:
-
Never give up- even when you feel like you can’t do another day, or shoot another customer, your wrong. The beach is constantly turning over, and there will always be somebody new to talk to
-
Cloudy/overcast days make for some of the best photos!
-
Don’t talk to lifeguards. They aren’t buying any keychains
-
Also avoid spending a lot of time with 2 girl shoots- they might buy one keychain each… Spend your time with families
-
If you’re nice to the families they will feed you!
-
Wear your sunscreen – the sun is brutal out there!
-
Rinse the sand off before going inside! Especially before going to bed- nobody likes sandy sheets!!
-
Remember to eat breakfast!
